NYC Emergency Patient Search (NYCEPS) is a new portal designed by Healthix and the NYCDOH to assist the public in locating and assuring the safety of loved ones who may have been involved in a city- or state-wide emergency. NYCEPS queries real-time patient data through Healthix to help families reunite during these chaotic and unforeseen circumstances.

Margaret Crotty – Executive Director, Partnership with Children
Partnership with Children was featured prominently in the NY Times article Studying How Poverty Keeps Hurting Young Minds, and What to Do About It. It talked about the effect of the chronic stress of poverty on children’s brain development.

Roslyn Daniels – President & Founder, Black Health Matters
Congratulations to Roslyn on being named a finalist for 2016 Leading Women Entrepreneurs in NJ. Roslyn founded Black Health Matters to showcase issues surrounding the health of African Americans.

Dr. Gary Kurtzman – Partner, Safeguard Scientifics
Lots of positive news for Safeguard portfolio companies. CloudMine was named a cool vendor in mobile app development by Gartner. Good Start Genetics appointed industry veteran Jeffrey Luber as president and CEO. Propeller Health’s Asthma Management Platform was tested by Dignity Health in a randomized controlled study and the results demonstrated that the use of Propeller’s technology improved asthma control.

Kudos to Vera, whose article – Consumer Health Information Bill of Rights Advancing Public Good – helped the Journal of AHIMA win a Silver Award from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors.
